MGI JETvarnish 3D Evo

 

Industrial sheet-fed finishing production line for the packaging, converting and commercial printing markets.

Ability to produce local UV varnish with or without 3D effects, gold foiling and hologram printing, 100% digitally, without tinplate, clichés and pre-printing processes.

The JETvarnish 3D Evo is the first B1+ digital sheetfed press with modular architecture, upgradeability, a gold-stamping unit and an expandable inkjet head system with sheet format options from 52x120cm (standard) to 75x120cm. The system handles paper and solid board up to 800 gsm, plastic, PVC and other coated sheetfed materials.

The B1+ format capability has been selected to meet the needs of printers and converters to produce short, medium or long runs with full personalization, without expensive tooling and pre-processing for packaging applications. Each finished copy from the JETvarnish 3D Evo can be a unique blend of digitally decorated images, text, logos or corporate design with spot varnish, 3D embossed varnish or gold foil in a single pass.

 

Solution for large producers

JETvarnish 3D Evo is a solution for large productions, incorporating a revolutionary "smart" coincidence control system, automatic head cleaning, pallet feeding and ejection. Its speed reaches 3,000 B2 sheets/hour for each version, while it can reach 4,200 B2/hour at a width of 75cm (in landscape loading).

 

Without crates and chemicals

The 100% digital workflow of JETvarnish 3D Evo eliminates the need for expensive pre-printing processes, mold or frame construction, which are part of conventional production. The preparation for production on JETvarnish 3D Evo is very short and economical, which translates into higher profit.

 

Traditional local varnish AND 3D effect in the same work

JETvarnish 3D Evo offers the ability to apply traditional spot varnish and embossing in the same job or separately (varnish thickness from 3 to 232μm), an option not offered by competing platforms. Up to 64 different varnish thicknesses with 2D, 3D effects and gold foil* can be applied in a single pass.

 

In-line digital gold stamping, flat or embossed

The optional iFOIL L unit offers a unique solution for producing 100% digital hot foil, without clichés and films, in one or thousands of copies. Hot foil is applied in-line with varnishing, in formats up to 75 x 120cm and in digital or offset printing and the result can include unique effects with hot foil, flat or embossed, combined with spot UV in the same job. Common commercial foils are used (up to 5 different foils in one pass) and there is the possibility of “foil on foil” coating.

 

Varnish & gold-stamped variable data

JETvarnish 3D Evo offers full personalization and customization capabilities per sheet thanks to the optional Variable Data Enhancement (VDE) system . An integrated Barcode Reader reads pre-printed barcodes and manages in real time variable data (texts, graphics or images) in varnish (2D/3D) or gold foil.

JETvarnish 3D Evo has a built-in production cost calculation tool. All the user needs to do is "load" the digital file (varnish mask) and the program will calculate the required varnish consumption, for 1 or 1000 copies. This way, the professional can be more accurate in the offers he gives and ensure high profit margins for his business.

 

Minimum circulation

Spot varnish jobs are typically produced in minimum runs of 1000 copies, due to the expensive preparation and pre-press costs in conventional production. There was no cost-effective way to apply spot varnish to 50 brochures or 250 leaflets on demand. JETvarnish 3D Evo enables spot varnishing even in minimum runs, down to a single copy.

 

New modular and upgradeable architecture

The JETvarnish 3D Evo is available in two different formats: 52x120 cm & 75x120 cm. It follows a modular and fully upgradeable architecture that foresees that all models have a pallet infeed and outfeed at the maximum width (75cm), as well as an iFOIL Hot Foiling unit also 75cm wide.

Offering adaptability to new needs for larger production or shapes, JETvarnish 3D Evo fully protects the original investment.
